Victorian Deaf Education Institute (VDEI)
This teacher’s conference is an opportunity to network with other Victorian Auslan teachers and gain information from organisations and presenters to contribute to your teaching knowledge and repertoire in the Auslan classroom.
The event will take place next the historical site of Victoria’s first Deaf school, Victorian College for the Deaf, established in 1860, and catered by students at the college‘s Tradeblock Cafe.
DATE: Friday, August 12th
TIME: 9:30am- 4:00pm (Registration opens at 9am)
VENUE: VDEI centre, 597 St Kilda Road, Melbourne
Morning tea, lunch, tea and coffee provided.

James Blyth- Auslan beyond lexicalised signs.
Darlene Thornton- The difference between Auslan and signed English, and how to preserve the language.
Julie Judd- Growing up CODA, and life as an interpreter for the Deaf community.
Sophie Li- Presenting information on the first Global online dictionary, Sign How.
